Lucas Buehler grew up on his family’s farm in Shelby County, Ohio where they raised pigs and beef cattle and were involved in row crop production. Lucas was active in 4-H and FFA where he showed market hogs and competed in livestock judging. He always had an interest in working with animals and initially wanted to become a vet to provide support to 4-H animals. For his undergraduate degree, he attended The Ohio State University where he studied Animal Sciences. While at OSU, he participated on the Dairy Judging Team and was involved with various swine research projects.
In 2019, he was accepted into The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where he quickly found his passion for production medicine. During veterinary school, Lucas spent time with other Four Star offices, various swine and poultry production operations, and spent time on beef feedlots out West. Lucas received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 and joined Dr. Minton’s staff at Four Star Veterinary Service in Chickasaw, Ohio.
Lucas and his wife Emily recently purchased a home and farm in Jackson Center, Ohio which allowed Lucas to move back to his home county. In his free time, he enjoys working on his farm, outdoor activities, and shooting sporting clays.
