Morgan Almeida grew up on her family’s cattle farm in DeKalb County, Illinois, where her life revolved around showing cattle and playing sports. She attended Black Hawk College before transferring to Iowa State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree and later completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a focus on production animal medicine.
Morgan always envisioned becoming a cattle veterinarian, but her interests expanded after working on a sow farm, where she developed a passion for swine medicine as well. Throughout veterinary school, she worked as a necropsy technician and participated in swine research projects aimed at answering practical questions facing producers. After graduation, Morgan joined Minton Veterinary Service, where she works with both swine and cattle operations.
Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and animals, gardening, baking, and helping on the family farm.
