Bailey Carpenter, VMD, MBA

Bailey Carpenter grew up in Marine, Illinois, a small town just east of St. Louis. Though she originally planned to become an equine veterinarian—sparked by her longtime love of hunter-jumper showing—everything changed during her first year of undergrad, when she worked with a commercial broiler-breeder operation in Mozambique and unexpectedly fell in love with poultry.

She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania and later completed her MBA at the Wharton School of Business, with a focus on strategy and operations. Her decision to pursue an MBA was driven by her desire to bridge the gap between animal health and the broader economic and structural systems that shape food production.

Bailey’s veterinary career began with international poultry development, where she worked across Central, Southeast, and Northwest Africa to support smallholder farmers, design flock health protocols, and advise government organizations and nonprofits on reliable production strategies. Her experience blending veterinary medicine with agricultural business goals has equipped her with a strong foundation for supporting U.S. commercial layer operations—particularly in the specialty egg market, where complexity and attention to detail are key.

She’s especially passionate about helping these producers navigate evolving market demands with tailored, data-informed, and practical veterinary support.

When she’s not working with farmers, Bailey enjoys playing soccer, reading historical fiction, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks in the fall. She’s also an avid runner training for her next marathon and loves spending time in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
