Michael Pierdon, VMD

Michael Pierdon purchased Lancaster Swine Health Services, P.C. in 2006 and 2 years later, joined Four Star Veterinary Service as its sixth clinic. Today, Michael and two other veterinarians work together in one of the few veterinary clinics servicing swine producers in Pennsylvania.

“All farms have different markets and unique goals,” he said. “I enjoy working closely with a client to find out what they need for their situation and then helping figure out how to achieve it.” he said.

Michael grew up in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, and received his undergraduate degree in animal and poultry science at Virginia Tech. He went on to the University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris in 2005.

His work with swine earned him special recognition. In 2009, Michael was named Young Swine Veterinarian of the Year by the American Association of Swine Veterinarians. And in 2014-2015, he participated in the National Pork Producers Council’s Swine Veterinarians Public Policy Advocacy Program.

Michael is married to Meghann Pierdon who is also a swine veterinarian. She is a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. The couple live with their three children in Bainbridge, Pennsylvania.
